Bipty is a peer-to-peer (P2P) fashion rental marketplace, allowing consumers to lend or borrow pieces from their closet and create an additional stream of income, creating a more sustainable fashion experience. Cropd designed a progressive web app (PWA) and mobile app experience.

Product Design

We delivered wireframes, user journey mapping, UX/UI design, and protoype to design a fully-functional progressive web app (PWA) and mobile app experience for Bipty's borrowers and lenders.

The goal was to set Bipty apart from other emerging P2P fashion rental apps through unique, yet intuitive design. Keeping the UI clean & engaging, yet bold and on brand with Bipty's bright blue.

The PWA was inspired by Airbnb as Bipty's slogan is, "Bipty the Airbnb of fashion." Users have the option to filter and search by occasion/type of look (i.e. brunch, wedding guest, going out, etc.), as well as by date.

The PDP allows users to request a rental or buy the item. A drop down calendar creates a clear visual when selecting rental dates. Something no other rental app does is clearly identify the date in which the borrower must return their rental — This highlights the rental dates & separately highlights an additional date to return the item.

The profile pages can all look the same — We wanted to change it up, while simultaneously keeping it intuitive. Rather than "following" one another, Bipty users 💙 to keep tabs on others' closets & spread the love.

The mobile app shares similar features to the PWA, while adding more uniqueness to the UI and functionality. The toolbar collapses into the corner to add more viewing screen real estate, and can be expanded to navigate to a new screen by holding down the sliding over — similar to pinning an item on Pinterest. The PDP has a static checkout section to the bottom of the screen for rental dates, messaging, and rental request to stay top of mind.
